ESM B-25 Mitchell 95”

The North American B-25 Mitchell produced by ESM, is yet another top notch RC scale airplane design to excite you with both appearance and performance. ESM of China has been importing RC scale airplanes into the USA and Canada for a few years now, and in that time ESM has become recognized as a new industry leader in highly detailed, great flying, ARF’s. Not only are the ESM ARF’s highly detailed, and great flying, they are extremely affordable for anyone to enjoy!

The B-25, as with all of ESM’s RC scale airplanes, come already painted at the factory, have pre-applied decals (which are then covered with a clear coat at the factory), have factory functional flaps (if the full scale version also had flaps), and come with one of the more complete hardware packages anywhere…including screws, rods, fuel tanks…etc.

Most ESM scale RC airplanes have epoxy resin fiberglass fuselages, with the wings being typical built up, and then covered with Solartex fabric, which is then painted for a perfect match! While all ESM scale RC planes come from the factory with conventional gear and wheels, ESM also offers a complete line of retracts for each individual plane, adding to the level of scale realism that all scale pilots look for in an ARF. It doesn’t end there, ESM offers separately a full line of scale accessories like bombs, gear doors, pilots, external fuel tanks and more, specifically designed to help those builders who want the most realism possible, without having to spend hours designing and building all these extra scale goodies.

The ESM B-25 Mitchell, as with all of ESM’s scale models, is loaded with features never before found in such low priced ARF’s, resulting in highly detailed, great looks, and great flying ARF’s!

The detailed fuselage is epoxy resin fiberglass, with scale panel lines and rivets molded right in. Wings are typical built up construction, include pre-designed cavity’s and mounting blocks for optional scale retracts, and have factory constructed flaps, all of which is then factory covered with Solartex fabric. All parts are finally expertly painted right at ESM’s factory, and once dry, all scale decals are pre-applied, and are then covered with a factory clear coat for protection.

Designed in the 1930's, the B-25 Mitchell was the most important medium bomber in WWII. It saw service in the British, Canadian, Australian and US forces during WWII with distinction in all theatres of the war. It served long after the war and over 10 000 were manufactured, across 4 decades.

The B-25J is widely held to be the best variant of this versatile aircraft. Early versions had a greenhouse canopy with a bombadier position. Later versions of the "J" had a solid nose with 8 .50 calibre machine guns. All "J" versions had two .50 caliber machineguns mounted on the fuselage below the pilot's position, and two more mounted on the co-pilot's side. Close to 4300 "J" variants were manufactured, and they saw extensive service.

Pilot's loved its stable and predictable flight acteristics, although they complained about the cabin noise (which caused hearing loss in many of its crew). Able to withstand substantial punishment, it was used extensively for interdicting enemy transportation, especially shipping in the Pacific theatre.

TBM will replace your plane at a 25% discount off of MSRP if you meet these conditions:
  • Purchase an ESM plane from 10/1/2009 to 9/30/2010.
  • Purchase the ESM plane through TBM or one of its authorized dealers.
  • Submit a photo of you with your ESM plane before you have an OOOPPPS. (We will put you on our photo page for that airplane)
  • Submit a photo of you with your damaged plane. (We will not post this on the website)
  • Damage must occur within 6 months of purchase.
  • Original receipt is required. (TBM does keep copies of all purchases though TBM and most of its authorized dealers.)
KMP planes do not qualify for this replacement policy because they are not imported by TBM, however, ESM planes imported by TBM and sold through KMP do qualify. Replacement is for the same model which was damaged. If that type is not available, alternatives may be offered at the discretion of TBM.

Notice regarding replacement parts for ESM planes: TBM stocks replacement cowls, tires, retractable landing gear, scale accessories, and canopies for ESM planes. ESM does not offer other items for sale separately such as wings, fuselages, or misc. hardware. If you have an accident and need a major component such as a fuselage or a wing, since these are not offered separately, ESM offers a complete kit as a replacement at a 25% discount if you meet the requirements of the ESM OOOPPPS Policy.

WARNING - Gasoline and Turbine powered aircraft are not manufactured to withstand unlimited G's. Any aircraft can fail, be it a wing folding up or a fuselage breaking in half under too high of a load. Just as any full size aircraft, model aircraft have a maximum G rating. Because you are not in the plane flying it and experiencing the G's and reading the G-meter, it is more difficult to judge the G's on the aircraft, and it is very easy to exceed the limits of the aircraft. Understand that if you perform a snap roll, parachute, wall, blender, knife edge loop, or pull hard on the elevator at almost any speed, you can be putting in excess of 15 G's, even in excess of 30 G's, and most aircraft can only designed to take 10-12 G's. If you perform any violent maneuver, you can break your plane. When I perform hard maneuvers, especially for the first time on an airframe, I am prepared for a failure and am prepared for it as best I can be. This mainly includes performing the maneuver far enough away from spectators that in event of a failure that I am not endangering others. In addition, be prepared for the manufacturer to not pay for a new airframe which is broken during flight. It is common practice for any manufacturer to not replace an airframe which breaks in the air or upon landing. I have only seen manufacturers replace airframes when they have received many of the same failures and the manufacturer determines that there was a design or manufacturing error. If you break an airframe, and you are the only one to do so, then it is probably not the fault of the manufacturer. Please fly safely, and avoid full throttle operation other than at low airspeeds.

An R/C aircraft is not a toy! If misused, it can cause serious bodily harm and property damage. Fly only in open areas, and AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics) approved flying sites. Follow all manufacturer instructions included with your plane, radio, servo's, batteries and engine. Aircraft manufacturers guarantees each kit to be free from defects in both material and workmanship at the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover any component assembled by the customer. All parts of high stress must be inspected and reinforced if necessary by a competent builder. Some parts should be glued again. High stress areas such as firewalls, motor boxes, wing mounts, landing gear mounts, etc., are areas of high concern. Seek help if necessary. In not case shall TBM be liable for the cost of any product it offers which is not manufactured by TBM. The liability to the manufacturer cannot exceed the original cost of the purchased item. Further, TBM reserves the right to change or modify this warranty without notice. In that TBM has no control over the final assembly or materials used for final assembly, no liability shall be assumed nor accepted for any damage resulting from the use by the user of the final user-assembled product. By the act of using the user assembled product, the user accepts all resulting liability. The kit manufacturers have provided you with a top quality, thoroughly tested kit and instructions, but ultimately the quality and fly ability of your finished model depends on how you build it; therefore, we cannot in any way guarantee the performance of your completed model, and no representations are expresses or implied as to the performance or safety of your completed model.
