Wing and Spar Tubes

Get rid of that heavy, outdated aluminum and get into Carbon Fiber!!
Light weight and Looks great!! Cannot bend or break. CF tubes are about 1/2 the weight of aluminum tubes, though some aluminum tubes are way too thick and in those cases, the weight saves is tremendous.
We have a new supplier, and are able to offer you much lower price than anywhere in the world.
The first tube we designed was for Carden planes. Cardens are/were heavy and easily bend the stock aluminum wing tube in high G maneuvers. It turned out that the tubes were also lighter, so some people replaced their stock aluminum tubes with the CF tubes to save weight, though the original intent was to be stronger.
WING TUBES: How easy is the installation?
1) Remove aluminum wing tube and give to son for baseball bat. 2) Slide CF tube in place. How easy is that? We've jumped on the wing tube, we smacked it on cement in 30 degree weather, we've flown the heck out of them and they don't fail. You will throw 10 planes away before you even nick this tube. Is there any other product that offers that? No way. You will never need another wing tube in your life!! There are thousands of CF tubes in use today.
These tubes are manufactured by winding CF filament around an aluminum mandrel, then impregnating with resin. Curing at an elevated temperature and pressure, and then sizing the OD by sanding. The surface is treated for improved appearance. The resultant tube is extremely hard, much harder than aluminum. The weight and size is very consistent, unlike the aluminum tubes made today which are badly out of round.
When a 250 lb man stands on the tube with the tube supported off of the ground, the tube barely deflects much less starts any crack!!
We can't cut off the tubes for special lengths though they are very easy to cut, just use a fine blade hacksaw or a dremel type cut off tool.
WARNING: CF is some nasty stuff!! While you drill, cut or sand CF parts to fit your application take precautions to avoid breathing the CF dust and to avoid getting CF splinters. Your body does not naturally repel CF, your body will make some inflammation tissue around it and the CF splinter will stay underneath your skin or in your lungs. Use a vacuum cleaner and a dust mask when machining or drilling the gear. Be very careful to not get the dust inside your house or to breathe it in.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON SIZING: Most wing tubes fit well, though wing tubes vary in size as do the sleeves in airplanes. The difference between a tight fit and a loose fit is very little, about 0.005". The tubes are manufactured slightly undersized so they will fit into sleeves which are properly sized. If you can accurately measure the tube you have and can tell us precisely the size you need, we can find one that will match the closest. If you receive a tube which is too small or too large, you can adjust the size yourself by sanding the large tube or using CA or paint to enlarge a small tube. Or you can return it and ask for a tube which is larger or smaller than the one being returned. We will do our best to get the best tube for your application. WARRANTY: Wing tubes have a 30 day warranty against manufacturing defects.
